P.A. Charron
P.A. Charron has been involved in the film industry for 30 years. A University of Ottawa graduate, he began his career as an IMAX projectionist at the Canadian Museum of Civilization (now the Canadian History Museum). He was then selected to be the Project Manager (during construction) and Chief Projectionist for IMAX le Théâtre, in Québec City, and afterwards, for IMAX Les Ailes, in Brossard (Québec). He was later recruited by Famous Players to join the expansion team responsible for developing hundreds of movie theatres across Canada. His focus was on the design and construction of ten IMAX theatres located across the country. He joined the Cineplex team when they acquired Famous Players.
P.A. is a technology passionate. He has participated in major industry conferences and he is committed to the importance of staying at the forefront of the latest technological developments in the cinema and film sector. He is one of a few in the world to have been trained and certified in tuning sound systems by IMAX, on top of his certification for the IMAX SR and GT systems.
As President of ProjecTech, P.A. provides overall direction for the company and oversees its performance and technical services. Over the last few years, he has helped many clients redesign and tune their audio systems using the mic swing technique – a technique only mastered by a few around the world.
